FEES AND MEDICARE

Fees

Standard consultations at SC Clinical Psychology are for 50-minutes. Fees are $230 and are due on the day of the session.

These fees are below the recommended consultation rate set by the Australian Psychological Society (APS), which is currently $311.

Medicare Rebates

If you are referred by your GP under a Mental Health Care Plan you are able to receive a rebate of $141.85 for each session (for up to 10 sessions per year).

If you are suffering from an eating disorder you may be eligible for an Eating Disorder Treatment Plan (EDTP), which entitles you to 40 rebated sessions a year.

Please discuss with your GP whether you are eligible for a MHCP or an EDTP.

Private Health Insurance

Depending on your level of cover you may be eligible for a rebate from your private healthcare policy. We recommend that you contact your private health care insurer prior to your session to confirm your eligibility.

Cancellations

SC Clinical Psychology has a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact no later than 24 hours prior to your appointment. This is to ensure that there is sufficient notice to offer this time to other clients also in need of support.

If you do not attend, or cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the full fee for this session. Please also be aware that rebates through Medicare or private health insurance are not available for cancelled or unattended appointments.
